The New School
The over-saturation of the music industry is the worst and best thing that could have possibly happened to anyone of us as musicians and music listeners, because there is no person saying, “this is good.” You are now being held to your own standard of judgment; man up and decide what you like, and play what you believe, because there are literally no barriers between “goodness” and success other than good old-fashioned hard work. The majors are dying; The indies are dying. It’s an all out fist-fighting brawl for attention, and my only advice is that you punch harder and faster than everyone else. We are the new school; this is great and beautiful, despite how hard it is. The greatest advice I can give you is don’t listen to me, because it will be completely different tomorrow.
