Song of the day: Ceremony - New Order
I’ve never quite understood why I haven’t ever found a peer who shares a love for classic 1980s new wave like New Order. I can find people who share my taste in nearly every other genre of music - but no one my age seems to really care about bands like New Order or Pet Shop Boys or ABC. I guess it’s understandable, considering that sometimes, even I cant stand this music (it’s best in small doses). But these songs were a complete innovation in their day, and some of these are true gems of melody and rhythm. Naturally, I’m biased, because I grew up listening to to this stuff on a pretty regular basis (thanks to my parents), but you should at least give it a shot. Just because it was made in the 80s and it’s new wave doesn’t mean it’s a joke; this is good music.
